Privacy policy

This policy explains how we handle information when you use Flouri Sudoku: Offline Puzzles. Visiting our website is covered separately by our website privacy notice.

By using Flouri Sudoku, you agree to the practices described below.

Who we are

Flouri Sudoku is provided by Flouri App Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 17181240. You can contact us at support@flouri.co.uk.

For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), Flouri App Limited is the data controller in the limited circumstances described in this policy.

What Flouri Sudoku stores on your device

The following information is stored locally on your device only:

  • Your puzzle in progress, finished puzzles and journal
  • Your points, level, collection of papers, pens, handwriting styles and stamps, and ink drops
  • Your daily puzzle history, streaks and streak freezes
  • Your statistics and personal best times
  • Your settings, including any daily reminder time
  • Whether you are a Supporter (a copy of what the App Store or Google Play reports)

We cannot see this data and cannot access it. Your device's own backup (iCloud or Google) may include it, under Apple's or Google's terms. If you uninstall the app, this data is removed by your operating system in the usual way.

Ads (free version only)

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob (Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited) after some completed puzzles, never during one, and optional ads that unlock extra hints. Supporters never see ads.

Consent comes first. Before any ad is requested, Google's consent form is shown where the law requires it, for example in the UK and the European Economic Area. On iPhone, you will also be asked whether Flouri Sudoku may track you. You can say no to both: the game works the same, and ads are less personalised. Where it applies, you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.

To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's ads software may collect:

  • Your device's advertising identifier, if you allow it
  • Your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location
  • How you interact with ads and the app, such as app launches, taps and video views
  • Ads you have seen
  • App performance and crash information

Google processes this information under its own terms and policies, including how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. Where consent is required, the legal basis for personalised ads is your consent. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings.

Supporter purchase

If you buy Supporter, the payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their terms. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to confirm and restore your purchase. RevenueCat receives the store's purchase record and a random, anonymous app identifier. It does not receive your name or email address. RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf; its privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Device permissions

Flouri Sudoku may request the following permissions from your device:

  • Notifications, only if you turn on the daily reminder. You will be offered this once, after your first daily puzzle, and you can change it at any time in Settings → Daily reminder or in your device settings. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device, at most one a day and none once you have played that day. No notification content is sent to us.
  • Tracking (iPhone only), Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, shown before personalised ads. Flouri Sudoku works the same whatever you choose.

On Android, the app also declares Google's advertising ID permission, which is not a prompt and which you can control in your device's ads settings. If we add further permission requests in future updates, this section will be updated.

Children

Flouri Sudoku is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has been shown personalised ads in the app, please contact us.

This privacy policy is available from within Flouri Sudoku at any time, in Settings → About → Privacy policy.

Our website

Visiting flouri.co.uk, including using its contact form, is covered by our website privacy notice, which applies to the whole site.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access any personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time

In practice we hold almost no data about you. For information collected by Google's ads software, you can use Google's own tools or change your choices in Settings → Privacy choices. For anything else, contact us at support@flouri.co.uk and we will help.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know within the app. The "last updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent version.
